How Relationships Can Build Your Blog Readership

building blog relationshipsLoyal blog readers is one of the best things when you have a blog. The here today gone tomorrow readers won’t get you far. It’s the people who really like what you are all about and what you have to say that makes a difference with your blog. And that’s the best kind of traffic.

I tend to get most of my comments from people I have built some sort of relationship with, even if it’s a small one. And it’s always a joy to get a comment from someone you know. It’s kind of like getting a letter in the mail. And it’s nice because with comments you can write as much or as little as you want.

My grandma just passed away last week and it was nice to receive heartfelt comments from people I had never met in real life, but had built relationships with online through the blogging world.

Blogging can be a very supportive community, and I would suggest anyone start a blog and start building relationships with other bloggers, even just as an outlet, or a form of support. If you suffer from depression, and you express that on your blog, you will find that there are tons of other people who are in the same boat, and who can relate to you.

When you build relationships with people, you can go far in life. That is why extroverts are already one step ahead of us introverts. However, with the internet, even introverts can build strong online relationships that can benefit both parties.

The internet has made it way easier for people to connect with each other. Some may say that it has become less personal, but in a way, some people, who are more shy or reserved, can feel free to become more personal when not face-to-face. So people end up getting to know a side of each other that might not have been shown in person. For some reason, people feel less vulnerable on the internet. People feel more free to express and be themselves.

It’s not hard to gain lots of good relationships on the internet and you never know how that could benefit you, or how you could help someone else by building those relationships.

I’ve talked in the past about how bloggers building relationships with other bloggers can easily benefit both parties. When two bloggers build each other up, encourage each other, and share each other’s stuff, there is the potential for both blogs to flourish, and gain more traffic.

When you comment on other blogs, it opens the door for them to comment back. When you share other people’s blogs, and let them know you did so, it opens the door for them to share your blog, as well.

It is fun getting to know people on the internet. I’ve been joining chat rooms and communicating online since I was in 7th grade. It was super new then (1996), and now the internet has come so far. Now people from all over the world, from all walks of life are on the internet. You have the potential to reach 2 billion people in all countries throughout the world. This can help you become, not only more successful financially, but also more well-rounded and cultured, even for those of you who don’t or can’t travel the world. I have gained friendships with people from Nigeria, Uganda, Canada, Australia, the UK, Germany, all over my own country of the United States, and many other countries. It’s really an amazing thing. And by sharing my blog with those people, it has opened the door for them to pop on over and learn more about me and what I have to say. It has started some great discussions that can give me a new fresh perspective on all sorts of topics.

Building a blog readership can be beneficial financially. But it is also an enriching experience that can’t really be matched by any other profession. And the friendships that are gained cannot be replaced.

I want to say a special Thank You to all my friends I’ve gained through this experience. I’m glad to know you.
