What’s in It and What Did I Do?

You’re doing all this work to get people to come to your blog, you might as well make your blog a store and make some of those readers your customers. Why not?

This week is all about creating your second free and purchase product to make available to your blog readers. It can be an ebook, an actual product, or a service that you offer.

I have thought of a few ideas as far as selling some etsy style items off my house blog. I’m not at that point yet, but I’m definitely going to set up at least a few items at some point in the near future. The main thing that’s holding me back right now is that I’m not organized and I just don’t have the time. I have a lot of other things I do in my daily life besides blogging, so it isn’t the right time to add more to that. I am working on streamlining some of my stuff, so hopefully soon I’ll be more organized.

This week, I decided to charge businesses to submit guest posts to the house blog. basically what they’re paying for is a link. I get way too many offers of people wanting to submit guest posts on the house blog, so this was the best way for me to weed people out and make a bit of dough while I’m at it. Plus, people who are willing to pay are also probably going to have some of the better content, so why not? I announce when it is a sponsored post, and guest post, and now I announce when it is a sponsored guest post. That is what I’m calling it. I don’t charge bloggers to contribute guest posts at the house blog. That is free. And guest posting here at Blog and Retire is also free.
