What is the Blog and Retire case study?

What’s in It and What Did I Do?

Week 36 is all about joining Link Vehicle. It’s a money maker. I tell you how to do it, and I give extra tips on how to get all set up on Link Vehicle, so that you get offers and the money starts rolling in.

Link Vehicle is basically a site where publishers (bloggers) can set up an account, and advertisers can choose your blog to get a paid review or just a paid link. You can set your price to whatever you want, but they suggest the price you should charge based on Page Rank.

Link Vehicle is a super easy way to make some extra money from your blog. I’ve been getting quite a few review requests for the house blog, and I also got paid to simply put a link in my sidebar (that’s called a sponsored link).

One thing I did this week for the house blog was used a $50 Facebook advertising credit toward my house blog’s facebook page (Facebook gave it to me for free, I wouldn’t actually pay for Likes). This has given me a bunch more page Likes, (last week only 104, now 137 Likes), so that was cool. I also think this gave me an extra boost I needed to surpass 40,000 pageviews this month (all time best for this blog yet).

I wrote a lot of blog posts in July, partially because the more blog posts you write, the more chances people have to come to your blog. Especially if you have a lot of people signed up to get blog post updates through email. I really wanted to boost up my pageviews in July, and it definitely worked.

The other reason why I wrote a lot of blog posts is because I keep getting sponsored posts now, and even sponsored guest posts from businesses who want to promote their company. Some are willing to pay to give you guest posts. As I said earlier, I don’t charge bloggers to contribute a guest post, only businesses.

So this upcoming week I would like to get proactive and start contacting companies to see if they would like to advertise on my house blog. We’ll see how many takers there are! I give tips for this in Week 30, and I know I’m a bit late for starting this since my house blog has now surpassed week 36. But that’s okay. The Blog and Retire ecourse is set up so you can go at your own pace, and do things that are convenient for you, when it’s right for you.
