As an online entrepreneur, I often need to outsource some of my work so I don’t get too bogged down. I currently have two assistants that help me with my online businesses, and they are the best I’ve ever had because I’ve finally perfected my hiring process.
Hiring the right people for the job is not the only obstacle you need to overcome when outsourcing tasks to a team of contractors.
It is very important to stay organized in your business procedures.
If your contractors don’t know where to find vital files, or communicate with each other when necessary in order to properly execute their tasks, then your business is going to be a mess.
You need to stay organized and have a place for your contractors to find the files, tools, and proper communication they need to succeed at the job you’ve given them.
Think about it this way: In a brick and mortar business, everyone comes to work and works in the same building. The computers are typically all on the same network and everyone can access everything they need to get their work done efficiently and properly. And since everyone is in the same building, it is easy for everyone to communicate with each other, which not only helps with business efficiency, but also helps with building camaraderie among employees, which makes for a more positive work environment.
If you work at home online, your employees might be working on the other side of the country, or they may even be in another country altogether. So how do you keep everyone and everything connected? You need a sort of online office collaboration zone. A place to store everything where everyone will have access to it, and a place where everyone is able to collaborate on projects. Zoho.com is a great tool for just that. Employees and Contractors can securely access everything from anywhere in the world. Check it out.
Outsourcing my work has become a necessity to me. I literally don’t have the time to do everything that needs to be done even if I didn’t eat and sleep. Staying organized has definitely helped me get everything done in an efficient way, and kept my business growing. My income increases every month, and with outsourcing, my workload does not increase as my income does. It’s the best of both worlds. And if my contractors didn’t have access to everything they needed, they wouldn’t do a job well done. So organization is essential to a successful growing business.
