There is more competition in the marketplace which makes it critically important for a business to remain in the minds, and in front of the eyes, of customers. Here are some of the main reasons why many business owners are participating in email marketing.

Stay In Touch with Customers

Email marketing lets customers know about any upcoming sales or special deals going on at a business that they can take advantage of each week. Seeing an email from a business may remind a customer that he or she needs a particular item. Or, the email may serve as extra incentive to shop that week due to a special sale for regular customers. An email from a business can prompt a customer to take some action to either purchase an item online or visit a bricks and mortar business.

Get More Traffic to Your Blog or Website

Email marketing is a great way to get return visitors to your site. If you’re running a blog, more traffic means more money by way of advertising. Set up an email optin for people to get updates from your blog, that way they’re notified every time you publish an awesome post.

Or if you’re selling products or services on your website, then email marketing is a great way to get people back to your site to order again. But my best advice here is again to have a blog on your website too, even if you’re product or service based. People are much more content-driven now, which means they like to get information. So by leading people to your blog by posting amazing articles, you then have them on your site, and they might just take another look around and give you their money.

Word-of-Mouth Advertising

Finally, email marketing can also prompt some word-of-mouth advertising for a business. For instance, a woman who receives an email from her favorite clothing store about a sale on shoes may tell a friend about the sale or even take the friend with her to the store. Not surprisingly, her friend may sign up to receive emails as well. Consequently, the business garnered a new customer by way of its email marketing campaign.     Email marketing is a great way of making money and promoting articles (which is what I use it for mainly), I always struggle to get subscribers to open the emails though, I would love some tips on how to improve this. 🙂

      You definitely need to have a good headline. I think someone else asked this in a comment on another post recently… let me check… yep… so I’m just gonna copy paste what I wrote there over here:

      As far as getting subscribers to open your emails, it’s all about the subject heading (of course). One tip I got from someone was to simply put the first name of the person in the subject heading and nothing else. Or simply including the first name with the rest of your subject heading. People respond more when they see/read their own name. Subject headings of emails have to be really intriguing and awesome like blog post titles. You gotta grab the attention of the person and make them want to open your email or read your blog post. Think about whether or not you’d open your email if you got it from someone whose list you’re on. If not, tweak it until even you would open the email if you got it from someone else.
