How to Make Money With a Blog and Mega Personal Finance Tips Too!

How-to-make-Money-BloggingA lot of people come to Blog and Retire because they want to learn more about how to run a successful blog.

I have been a long time follower of ChristianPF.com which is a personal finance blog/site based on biblical principles. Whether or not you’re a Christian doesn’t even matter because Bob (the founder of ChristianPF.com) gives solid financial advice and tips for everyone.

I recently stumbled upon his post about how he makes money with his blog and all the tips he gives for newbies just starting out, and also some great advice even for people who have been blogging for a long time.

I especially liked his section about how he made $1500 more per month with AdSense. I know I’ve gone on in the past about how I don’t like AdSense, but that’s only because it’s personal with me, and I still highly recommend using AdSense if you can because it is really the very best ad platform to use on your blog if you don’t get banned by them. And something I didn’t even realize was that I might have been banned because I didn’t have a Privacy Policy! Now I know, and now you do too. And I owe that knowledge to Bob.

See? I don’t know everything! It’s impossible to know everything about any given topic, and we can all be learning continually throughout life. So get that privacy policy on your blog! It’s also just good for building trust with those visiting your site.

But don’t stop there, because Bob has so many other great things to share with you about how he does it and how you can start and/or improve your own blog. You can read the full article here: How to Make Money With a Blog – How I replaced by Day Job With Earnings From This Blog.

It is really more like a mini course on blogging so definitely check it out. He has a navigation menu at the top left of this mega article so you can jump to the sections that interest you most, or to the parts that you need to learn the most about.

That’s pretty much all I wanted to share with you today. Check out Bob’s article and the rest of his blog while you’re at it. He is pretty much my go-to expert on personal finance topics.

Thank you for the heads up, I’ll be going to Bob’s blog as soon as I publish this comment!

I wanted to mention Adsense, I was kicked out of Adsense last year because they THINK I might break their rules in the future, I have found that more and more people are being banned for this reason above everything else (including invalid clicking).

I no longer even recommend Adsense, I recommend Yahoo & Bing Media.

lol. that’s so sad that it’s almost hilarious that you were banned from adsense because they THINK you might break their rules in the future. That’s so crazy!

I have to share the same experience that I got banned from Adsense and I really struggled with it. Can you please share some most relevant things to care to get not to be banned from Adsense?

Please, I wait for your reply.

Hi Ojas, There are ways to make it less likely to get banned from AdSense and that is to simply follow the rules. Like I said in the post above, I didn’t even realize you had to have a privacy policy on your website in order to host adsense ads. Also, I think because my blog actually talked about adsense, Google probably didn’t like that. It’s all mainly automated, so their system might not realize that I’m explaining how adsense works, not asking for people to click the ads. I got an automated message from them saying I got banned for invalid clicks, but at that time I had only had adsense up for a couple months and had made very little money with it. Only a few dollars a month. This was when I first started blogging so I didn’t have a lot of traffic yet. So the invalid clicks excuse seems lacking to me, since it was pretty obvious there weren’t any invalid clicks (I sure wasn’t clicking my ads). There were so few clicks to begin with, lol! Anyway, just read the rules and follow them. Make sure you have a privacy policy. And I think it’s best that if you have adsense on your blog, not to talk about it in your blog posts, just in case (even if you’re just explaining for informational purposes how adsense works). You can appeal their banning of your account. I personally just didn’t want to deal with that because I haven’t heard of enough success stories.
