My Secret Method for Making Money Online

makingmoneyonline

My retirement was going along quite nicely; I had sold my business and decided to semi-retire; I did want to do something productive in order to keep my sanity.

I was pursuing my love of the travel business by operating an online boutique travel company that focused on Ecuador and specialized in the Galapagos and the Amazon.

The Phone Call That Changed My Life

Things started to change with a phone call from my son:

Here is how he started the call: “Dad, I have been diagnosed with terminal cancer.” I was stunned and paralyzed. I remember very little of the phone conversation after that point.

In the following months, many decisions had to be made. Going through my son’s financial analysis helped me understand the problems of so many people that are already retired or will retire in the very near future; Thousands of people, baby boomers in particular, are not financially prepared for the future.

Before he died, my son and his wife were forced to make some very difficult and painful decisions, like filing for personal bankruptcy and giving up the house that they had lived in for over 20 years.

Needless to say, this was a very traumatic time in the lives of our entire family.

In spite of this devastation, I am happy to report that my son’s family has experienced some heart-warming events. Upon the cancer diagnosis, the community in which they live rallied around them with warmth, loving care and support.

Our oldest granddaughter graduated from a state university in December 2015 and our younger granddaughter graduated from high school and is well on her way toward earning her college degree.

Our entire family has experienced what true love and friendship is all about. I wish the same experience for you and your loved ones.

Suffice it to say, my sincere hope is that no one reading this will ever experience the loss of a child or grandchild.

My other hope is that no one reading this will have to go through the financial difficulties my son’s family had to go through.

My Eyes Opened

Experiencing their financial hardships first hand and wondering how my daughter-in-law and two granddaughters would deal with the future prompted me to think a lot about what other people do when their financial plans fall apart.

What do retired, or soon-to-be retired, people do in situations like this?

If you are struggling now, or worried about how you will support yourself during retirement, you are not alone.

There are 10,000 boomers turning 65 EVERY DAY and 4,000, or 40%, are not prepared to retire financially. The average single woman is $105,000 behind in reaching her desired retirement position.

If this sounds like you, it is important to not blame yourself for being in this position because, chances are, it is not your fault.

There are so many overlapping circumstances that create difficult financial times, especially for women, such as:

  • a. The 40-50% divorce rate in the U.S leaves many single women in poor financial shape.
  • b. According to a recent USA Today article, 17% of adults between the ages of 50-64 have had to dip into their retirement accounts to cover emergencies caused by the effects of the 2007-2009 financial depression.
  • c. High college expenses are draining many bank accounts, or at least keeping families from continuing to grow their retirement accounts.
  • d. The higher cost of medical treatment is now the number one reason for personal bankruptcies in the U.S.
  • e. Caring for elderly parents and relatives is depleting personal bank accounts as well as keeping many family members, especially women, out of the workplace which keeps them from earning an income.
  • f. According to AARP, the average Social Security check for a woman is 40% less than a man.

If you recognize yourself here, I really encourage you to let go of any self-blame. Instead, use your resources to change your situation.

I regret that there was little I could do for my son and his family during this trying period. However, perhaps there are ways that I can help others, like you, in a similar situation.

If you are feeling uncomfortable, unsure, or possibly overwhelmed about facing a gloomy financial outlook for the future, I am wondering if you have ever considered doing what I do, which is to earn extra money via the internet.
There are literally hundreds of ways to ethically and realistically make money online.

What are some of the advantages?

  • a. You can work from home where you can schedule your own time.
  • b. You do not have to spend a lot of money to be successful.
  • c. No one is around to tell you what to do.
  • d. You do not need to have a product to sell in order to make money.
  • e. If you are following Lisha Yost and her blog, you know that blogging is one way to make money online: Lisha even offers a course in how to do it.

What is the downside of online marketing?

  • 1. You are your own boss, which means that you must be able to motivate yourself to do the necessary work.
  • 2. Beware: There are some marketing “sharks” out there trying to sell you an online product or service that promises to make you hundreds of thousands of dollars with little to no work. I even wrote a book titled, “The Internet Marketing Authority,” because I experienced what the sharks were doing.

How do you spot a shark?

When I first started out in the make money online business back in 2009, I knew very little about it but thought, “how hard can this be?”

I found out the hard way and it cost me time and money before I caught on to the sharks. I spent money on a couple of products that looked like good ideas but provided little content on how to do it properly.

After being attacked twice by the sharks, I sought help from a couple of seasoned pros in ethical internet marketing that were willing to give me good advice and counsel about what to do and, more importantly, what not to do.

My best advice for you is to find a knowledgeable and trusted source in internet marketing.

Here are a couple of suggestions for you on how to avoid a “shark attack” and what to watch out for:

If someone offers a way to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars with a product or service for you to install on your computer and then set on “auto pilot,” this should raise a red flag. Save your time and money.

Another method that is fraught with problems is answering surveys to make money. I am not saying that it is impossible to make money doing surveys, but you should be very careful answering this kind of an ad. If they require you to invest any money to learn their “tips and tricks”, I would suggest looking into a different method to earn extra income.

What I Do

Life has a way of throwing you curves. While I was quite happy and content pursuing my online travel company, life had something else in store for me.

Life did get in my way, so I made the conscious decision to shut down my online travel company and dedicate my life to helping those people that need and want my help to discover the magic of ethically making money online.

A few years ago, I could not have imagined what my mission would be at this point in my life but, this mission found me:

“Helping women experience a brighter and more secure future.”

By combining the business knowledge gained from owning my own business for 25+ years with the power of the internet, ethically making money online has become my area of strength and I am very comfortable talking about it and teaching it.
